Electricity measurement system — Energy Measuring System (EMS) — EN 50463
The ECMS-4000 is a complete on-board Energy Measuring System (EMS) per EN 50463, composed of a Data Handling System (DHS) and one or more Energy Measurement Functions (EMF). It collects, produces and stores energy billing data in a format ready for transmission to an authorized recipient on board or on a ground server.
The DHS regularly reads the load profiles of the connected EMFs, attaches time and position data, and compiles Compiled Energy Billing Data (CEBD) records. The records are transmitted automatically to a ground Data Collecting System such as the ECC-4000 using the protocol defined by EN 50463-4.
The ECMS-4000 implements the EN 50463 series (railway applications — energy measurement on board trains): EN 50463-1 (general), EN 50463-2 (energy measuring), EN 50463-3 (data handling), EN 50463-4 (communication) and EN 50463-5 (conformity assessment).
